Scoop
What will the first few days at Bigfoot be like?
You will get to know most of the people you work with within your first few days and get an insight into the different areas of production. After a 2-week evaluation, you will be assigned to a specific department or possibly a feature film shot locally, where you will specialize for the remainder of your assignment. Based on your level of expertise, you will be involved in major projects.
How will I finance my stay?
You will be given a monthly stipend that will cover the cost of living. For outstanding work and extra effort, interns are eligible for bonuses.
What is the housing situation?
For your first month, Bigfoot will provide housing in our on-site accommodations, the Casablanca Gardens Apartments . After your first month, we will help you find housing off-site and provide a monthly housing allowance. There are many reasonably priced apartments and houses for rent within walking distance or a short commute.
How do I get to Cebu?
Interns pay their own round trip flight to the Philippines. Mactan-Cebu International Airport has flights to and from major cities worldwide and is only a 10-minute drive from Bigfoot Studios. We will be sure to send someone to pick you up when you arrive.
What can I do for fun?
You can swim at a local beach, get a massage after a long day or join in on a song during the Filipino favorite pastime -- karaoke. There's also plenty to do in Cebu's massive shopping malls- catch a movie, go bowling or do a bit of shopping. Discovering the local culture is also part of the fun. After work, you can meet the other interns and employees at Tiki, our company bar, which overlooks the water at the back of Bigfoot Studios.
Where can I shop?
There is a mall, a supermarket and lots of small shops nearby where you can buy all the basics.
For more ambitious shoppers, Cebu City (about a 30 minute commute) has huge shopping malls and plenty of stores with everything from international products to designer jeans.
What can I eat?
Hungry interns have no trouble finding food. Local restaurants not only serve Filipino food, but also international cuisine. You can even have food delivered directly to Bigfoot, including McDonald's, Chinese food and pizza.
Bigfoot also has on-site dining options, so you are sure to never go hungry. FTV Café, located in Bigfoot's lobby, serves coffee drinks, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and Vietnamese food. We also have a small eatery that serves local cuisine, snacks and drinks throughout the workday. Both have several vegetarian choices.
For those who like to cook, you can get your groceries at the supermarket or outdoor market and prepare your food in Casablanca Gardens' full-size kitchen.
What happens after I finish my internship?
Bigfoot is interested in long-term relationships with upcoming talent in the industry. That's why an assessment follows each internship to explore opportunities for advancement and permanent placement within Bigfoot Studios.
